In India agriculture is a State Subject and as such it is primarily the responsibility of the states to formulate polices for the growth of agriculture and farmers welfare. Each State has its strengths in one area of crop production and the animal husbandry or the other. With the increasing globalization, states need to formulate policies and programs with global bench-marking to help their farmers compete at global markets. This requires the greater role and cooperation of the industry and key stake-holders with the State Governments in terms of preparing vision documents, partnership programs and mobilization of national and global resources in terms of experiences, investments, value chain development, ICT and extension services and connecting farmers with trade, technologies and markets. Keeping the above background in view, ICFA has conceptualized State Specific Chapters. Important Member stakeholder groups are invited to log on and register or write to us for co-opting them on the relevant State Chapters.
