The Indian food and agribusiness industry is large and diverse, with about a dozen industries offering inputs for agriculture and about three dozen industries involved in output businesses and the agri-food value chain. Each major industry has one or more national-level associations catering to the policy and development needs of that industry. However, the need has been felt for a long time to have a larger support system to substantiate the efforts of each industry with more research and knowledge inputs and an institutional, policy, and political support system. With this vision, ICFA has institutionalized sector-specific working groups, with members from industry, institutions, and policymaking coming together to form the apex boards of each working group. An ideal Working Group has 40 Board Members, with 75% coming from the industry and 25% from other stakeholders. Those interested in being a part of these Working Groups are invited to log on and register or write to us to be co-opted into the relevant working groups.
