The Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) is India's apex body dedicated to advancing business, policy, and developmental agendas within the food and agriculture sectors. Serving as a global platform, ICFA plays a pivotal role in agro trade facilitation, policy advocacy, technology, and agribusiness services.
ICFA's proactive approach helps identify and address critical challenges facing Indian agriculture while opening new avenues for national and global partnerships, agro-ventures, investment, and international trade. By actively engaging with its various Industry Working Groups and Sector-specific Councils, ICFA amplifies the voice of key stakeholders, including farmers, trade, and industry, both at the national and global levels.
The ICFA Dutch Council has been conceived as a dedicated platform to foster deeper engagement between India and the Netherlands across food, agriculture, and sustainability sectors. Drawing on the Netherlands’ global leadership in horticulture, water management, agri-tech, and circular agriculture, and India’s vast agricultural ecosystem and emerging innovation landscape, the Council aims to serve as a bridge between stakeholders in both countries.
The Council will anchor bilateral cooperation, stimulate investment and trade flows, and promote policy-level dialogues and research partnerships. It will also work to identify joint projects, organize sectoral missions and knowledge exchanges, and enable meaningful collaboration among governments, businesses, research institutions, and farmer organizations.
The ICFA Dutch Council aims to serve as a strategic institutional bridge between India and the Netherlands by:
1. Promoting bilateral collaboration in key areas such as food, agriculture, horticulture, water management, agri-tech, and sustainability.
2. Facilitating partnerships across businesses, research institutions, and government bodies to drive innovation, investment, and technology exchange.
3. Creating a vibrant multi-stakeholder platform for dialogue and cooperation among policymakers, industry leaders, academia, investors, and farmer organizations.
4. Promote technology transfer in horticulture, dairy, water management and agri-logistics.
5. Enable joint ventures and investments in agri-business and food-processing.
6. Support research collaborations and academic exchange.
7. Encourage startups and youth innovations throughIndo-Dutch incubation network.
The Council will work to strengthen mutual understanding, align development goals, and identify joint initiatives that address shared challenges in food systems, climate resilience, and agricultural transformation.
